The Purring Parlour's  Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all grooming appointments booked with The Purring Parlour.

By booking an appointment, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions, together with our Pet Health & Behaviour Form.

Bookings

Appointments must be booked in advance.

A booking is only confirmed once your Pet Health & Behaviour Form has been reviewed and your appointment has been accepted by The Purring Parlour. The form will be sent to you when you request an appointment and only needs to be completed once, unless their are any changes to your cat's health or behaviour. You are responsible for providing accurate contact details and relevant information about your cat's health, behaviour and grooming history.

For online bookings via Square, your card details are securely held to cover the £20 cancellation fee where applicable. No payment is taken when you request an appointment.

For appointments arranged directly with The Purring Parlour, a £20 deposit will be requested by bank transfer to secure the appointment. The deposit will be deducted from the final appointment price.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Cancellations or rescheduling made within 24 hours of the appointment, or appointments missed without notice, will incur a £20 fee. For Square bookings, the fee will be charged to the card provided. For bookings secured by bank transfer, the £20 deposit will be retained.

Pricing

Prices shown on our website and booking system are intended as estimates. The final price may vary depending on your cat's coat condition, matting, work required and behaviour and tolerance.

Matting

Matting can cause discomfort and may require additional grooming time. Mats usually cannot reasonably be worked through without causing unnecessary discomfort or distress, and may need to be removed for your cat’s welfare. Matt removal may change the appearance of your cat’s coat and may result in shorter, uneven or patchy areas of fur and may affect how the coat regrows.

Grooming & Welfare

The welfare and comfort of your cat will always be prioritised. Every appointment is adapted to the individual cat and their temperament, tolerance and condition. Appropriate handling techniques and safety equipment may be used where necessary. If a cat becomes excessively distressed, shows signs that continuing would be detrimental to their welfare, or presents a significant risk to themselves or the groomer, the grooming appointment may be stopped. Where an appointment is stopped for welfare or safety reasons, a charge may still apply for the time spent and services provided. Where appropriate, a further appointment or alternative grooming approach may be recommended.

Fleas, Parasites & Infectious Conditions

If fleas or other parasites are identified during an appointment, grooming will be stopped. A £20 additional fee will be charged to cover the additional cleaning and disinfection required.

The Purring Parlour may refuse or postpone an appointment where attendance could pose a risk to the health of other animals or people.

Late Arrivals & Collection

Please arrive on time for your appointment. Late arrival may reduce the amount of grooming time available, particularly where another appointment follows. If there is insufficient time to safely complete the planned service, the appointment may need to be shortened, rescheduled or stopped.

Please collect your cat promptly at the agreed collection time. If you are going to be delayed, please contact The Purring Parlour as soon as possible. Where a cat remains at the salon for an extended period after the agreed collection time, an additional charge may apply where this results in additional care or prevents other appointments from being carried out.

Payment must be made in full before your cat is collected.

Veterinary Emergencies

Every reasonable care will be taken during grooming. If a medical emergency occurs during an appointment, we will attempt to contact you and your nominated emergency contact. If neither can be reached and veterinary attention is considered necessary for your cat’s welfare, you authorise The Purring Parlour to seek appropriate veterinary treatment. You remain responsible for any veterinary costs incurred.

Photographs & Social Media

Photographs or videos of your cat will only be used for marketing, social media or promotional purposes.

You may withdraw your consent for future use of photographs or videos at any time by contacting The Purring Parlour.
